Ruger Mini 14
Hi everyone,
I'd like to know what owners of this rifle think about it.
I'm considering the stainless model but I've heard terrible stories about this rifle.
I'm not planning to use reloads, just basic factory ammo. Planned use is pest control.
Any input is welcome.
Thanks!

Never owned, never shot one. I heard they work well but are terribly inaccurate.

I have a 100th year anniversary edition ranch rifle. Very nice light, well balanced rifle. Accuracy is minute of coyote out to 100-150 yds.

Had one of the older versions, not terribly accurate, but I'd say pie plate at 100 yards accurate. Other than that, super reliable, never had a failure to load or anything like that.

The problem with the new target models is they are very heavy and still not that accurate.

Had one, had to sell it when the kid told the wife about the new prohunter.
Mine never failed but I didn't like how accurate it wasn't. One thing to be mindful of is where you shoot from. I've got a chipped windshield and a kid with a chipped tooth from the brass that spits out of it.

I have an older stainless Mini 14 "Ranch". With the iron sights it does minute of coyote very well to 100 yards. With a 3-9 Bushnell on it a clay pigeon on the ground at 200 doesn't stand a chance.
Good and reliable, durable and with a synthetic folding stock compact and weatherproof.
Mags can be a bit of an issue to get now, but I have lots so not an issue for me.
