I have a couple Annies (1403 and 1422D), the 1403 is awesome. Have a Kimber 82 which shoots pretty good too. Annies are work a tad more, but well work it. Accuracy is often related to the quality of the ammo.

I currently own and am in the process ofrestoring a few older 22's, the one that i enjoy the most is an Ithaca x5. My advise is to check out the local gun shows and check out some of the used guns you may find a gem like i did.

My next .22 is a RUGER 10/22 takedown.
It's a RUGER 10/22, it's portable, comes with storage backpack and stainless steel makes maintenance easier.
Only thing I don't know is if the Takedown accuracy is thew same or worse than a 10/22 Compact or Sporter?

for Plinking or hunting this 22LR Rem 597 is deadly... just saying
I like American Eagle 38gr LR
even my mentee shot 10 shots on target and got 100 score so I said I would take her hunting if she got her Pal and Hunters training .. she did ..Ashley is a Huntress

I've got a CZ lux in .22wmr. Lovely rifle. I just like to hold it. Can't say it's more accurate whan other brands, because I haven't owned them. But the CZ is a beauty.

Ended up going with a CZ 455 American. Wood was lovely and provided the ability to add a 17hmr or 22 wmr barrel for less than $200. Test target had 5 shots all overlapping. Unless that test target is make believe, it will be as accurate as I can make it. Bolt was a little rough. Cleaned and oiled her up and worked that bolt while watching tv. Smooth as butter now.
I came close to buying the Annie, but I just had a hard time justifying double the cost for a gun that will be marginally more accurate.

CZ. Good choice... Now buy every brand of ammo you can find and shot it at 100 yes. To find what it likes best... By the time your done the trigger will have worn in an you will have a sweet, accurate rifle.

Anyone have any experience with the Marlin XT22?
Looking to upgrade from an old Cooey model 70 single shot, though on a bit of a budget.
