Default How's Cold Lake?

Anyone fish Cold Lake this weekend? Hoping to get out there in the next week. I got skunked twice last year...so maybe this year!!

Went out about 10:00 Saturday morning caught one 80cm in 15 minutes, fished until 3 with son in law and grandson. 6 more 2lbs to 6lbs got real tired of the wind. With care, big tires and a partner or two you can go anywhere.
lots of heaves, big ones are easy to see, 10 inch ones can get you airbourne

I'm thinking of conning the wife and kids into a long drive. I've never been there but the laker pics I've seen posted has gotten my rod standing at attention. Would we be severely limiting our luck if we stayed along the beaten path? I don't think the wife and kids will be too happy about pushing the truck.

limited for sure, the "Cold Lake Hiway" has been slow for a few weeks now, get off the beaten path and the fish are a plenty, head over to Garnet beach.
