Default Tip up spools ....

Why is that every major brand of tip up has a silly little small 1" - 2" diameter spool to wind your line up with?

Why not make a larger 4" diameter spool so you can turn the spool a few times instead of sitting there and winding the spool a thousand revolutions to gather up your line at the end of the day !!!!!

Anyone know of a product like that OR has an idea to modify a tip up .....???

Just one of these minor pet peeves I think about during hard water season.

Your thinking of a large arbor fly reel.

Yes HT sells replacement spools that are larger than the ones that come with the tip up. I have not tried to see if they fit any of the frabill tip ups. Wholesale had them last year. Haven't been in there recently though.
