Default Long shot on cow elk

So like the title says I'm sure this is a long shot , but does anyone have a line on a cow elk in 504. I take my 85 year old neighbour hunting every year and he has it in his head he wants to to fill is cow elk draw as he never has gotten one. We have been all over this zone for 3 weeks looking , walking and asking and have yet to see an elk. Got some nice permission for whitetails but the elk just seem to not exist out there..

The only elk I've seen in 504 has been at the long lake "S" curve on hwy 831. There is supposedly a herd around the valley on the east side of the highway. Good luck.

They are far and few between, but they are there. Sometimes people see them around the landfill by long lake. I heard they are also spotted out on the grazing reserve south east of long lake. Late in the season they migrate west to the crop land.
good luck

Right on guys hopefully the colder weather makes them move a little more. We will keep at it, the guy with the tag has not missed a season in 69 years! It's nice to get him out and here tales of seasons past.

So despite my best efforts we are still elk free! Just figured I would try again to see if anyone has managed to spot any around 504 . Thanks again.

Just talked to a long time newbrook resident/hard core hunter and no dice with the elk this year.

They do not seem to be around this year.

There is a road off the 831 that goes to the north tip of Long Lake. Its gated but theres a bypass for quads. I've seen them in there several times.
