Here is a Goose hunt in Rosetown Sask ..then down to Sask Landing.. also shot some Nuttall’s cottontail and White-tailed Jack Rabbits..

Do you mind if I ask what your bunny technique is?
I passed through an area with a whole bunch of tracks walking to a coyote stand the other day, but I'm not sure how I would ever find them and get a clean shot.

Slick.. there a couple ways we used that day .. track them down so if you have a fresh snow then if you go where they are and take a walk then when you push one up and u can see its fresh ..it usually takes a couple minutes to see them as you track them through the bush always look ahead and if your partner is on one side the better

by looking head I mean also moving your head up and down 3 ft changing the angle you are looking ahead ..keeping tracking and moving(stalking) ..then when you see them try to keep them in eye sight if they run but move slower as you try and spot before they run.. head shot for us

The second way is we will drive roads where they cross or sit in the bush/trees .. then it becomes how slow can you go.. and again I will go from a tall man looking to a child looking out that rolled down window .. you could do this along coulees or willow bunches you have access ..out here its crown land and a cutline or a mill road

My bro was commenting to me the other day that we are seeing less as the high cycle is over

But if you look/track/stalk

That Waskle Wabbit is still there

Ps I am always looking at all times

Thanks a lot. That was kind of what I figured you would do. First light/evening would probably the best time to catch them moving, right?
I have seen some people hunting on TV with big groups and pushing out bush, but I figured you were up to something else with just 2.
I might have to go and check out that spot again this weekend...

with all that shooting I think I am getting better

but hey anyone can miss especially me

when you shooting through bush sometimes you have too shoot 7 to get one through

Hey Speckle... With your number counts from the past two years, I am wondering how big an area you are harvesting and if you are maybe overharvesting an area, lowering the numbers?

on the high cycle they are high and with the track even this year there are lots

remember they can breed 3 too 4 times a year ..there are lots in this area ...tracks don't lie

Personally, I'd probably be better off hunting them with a shotgun than a 22, unles they stay very very still as I get nice and close. LOL I think a 20 gauge would be a nice grouse/rabbit gun.
