Default Looking for savage barrel nut and recoil lug

Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can find a savage old style barrel nut and a heavier recoil lug for a savage 11, I'm doing a barrel swap in a couple weeks and don't want a barrel but to hold up production.

Best Regards,

Jflyer

I ordered the barrel from Jerry however he is out of both items and unsure of when he will get more in, I don't want somethings as silly as a barrel nut to hold up my re-barreling.

I was looking for a Barrel nut too. Brownelles has the recoil lug but no nuts, blue or stainless. Good thing about Brownelles. if you order through them it doesn't usually take them long to get stock in to fill the order. Savage Shooters Supple will no longer ship to Canada. Numerich Arms has them but they charge a $35 Foreign handling fee on each order. You can order direct from Savage and they are pretty fast usually.

Savage Canadian Warranty Dealers

I ordered two Stainless from Grech today. $24.95 each, they didn't have any blued ones, and a blued recoil lug $12, had no stainless.

New ones are smooth and a lot more difficult to remove and put back on. At least in my case I am switching back to the old style notched nut.

Brownells has been out of stock on barrel nuts and bolt heads for well over a year, wouldn't count on them as a source.Since ATK took over Savage Arms they have put a new policy in place concerning parts they consider to be qualified Gunsmith installed only, previous to ATK you only had to send an email stating all work would be done by a qualified gunsmith, clearing Savage of any possible future liabilities and a guy could get the parts needed.
The Canadian Warranty shops follow ATK's policy concerning this, I have had conversations with both.
An after market recoil lug shouldn't be a problem, but the nut may be.
Good Luck

Per my post above, apparently neither are an issue. I just ordered two nuts and a recoil lug from their warranty shop in Ontario.

Not what I was told last conversation with Grech, that was a year ago.
I'm glad it worked out for you though, who did you order from?
I usually deal direct with Savage Arms USA for parts , perhaps i'll give them a call and see if they changed policy.I got a Mag replaced last fall from Savage USA didn't think to ask .
