im gonna go against the grain here. I like to have a 10 yard pin. at least half my kills have been there or closer. At that distance you don't have time to think about hold over/under, your shot sequence must be as fast and smooth as possible because chances are the animal will be alerted by your draw.
Now if you only EVER take broadside, shallow angle shots shots... shooting at 10 with a 20 yard pin probably won't matter...but that might mean the difference between passing the biggest buck of your life, or your only opportunity of the season. I am very comfortable and successful taking frontal shots (and even the verboten quartering toward shot), however this requires extremely precise arrow placement. I can do that better with a 10 yard pin. Not recommending it, just saying. Flame suit on.
Also, depending on your arrow trajectory vs sight allignment, you may be able to use a 50/60 yard pin as a 10 as well. Try it and see what works best for you.
