hey tbark in the rest of the pic(this pics was cropped to enlarge a certain area) the front leg on the same side is a "bum" leg the deer is not standing on this leg in all the pics of it that were taken.And after a buck drops its antlers isnt there usually and indentation where the base of the antler existed not a very large lump that is much larger than the base of the antler
7 Rem Mag, you are correct about the indentation, but if you look close, the lighting makes this spot look bumpy which it is not. If you had a direct side shot you would see somewhat of an indentation, at least for awhile till it fills in. Also, to make it look even more like a bump, the coloring is dark. BL
Ever think that it could be growing an antler? Once saw a cow moose with one antler just above the right eye. A friend shot it for a bull, what a surprise but legal.
