I too am curious as to what you were using to catch not one but 3.

You are now my Ghost Lake hero. Never had more than a 2 fish day there. Most days were a big bust.

I too would love to know how to fish on Ghost.

It's been a few years and I have yet to catch anything. Tried every method known to man (except fly's).... From trolling, down-rigging, casting/retrieving, jigging... LOL

I have no trouble catching fish anywhere else.

Caught the odd small to mid size laker around the island just right of the boat launch jigging a white tube

Have got a few nice browns down on the far west end trolling a woolly bugger with a light sinking fly line.

Know of one guy who swears by trolling buzz bombs but never worked for me. Never heard of anyone catching 3 in one day before. I like most have spent more days just going for a boat ride. Without a doubt one of Alberta's hardest lakes to fish.

Spent the entire day yesterday fishing all of these spots basically just breaking in my new boat. Not a single sniff all day long. Saw a few guys catching a few whites but what a terrible day for fishing.... May 8th can't come soon enough!

there always seems to be some going after the whites down on the far west side.

I feel for you that is one tuff lake to fish for sure. Makes you almost wonder how in the world someone could go out and land 3 trout. I for one would sure like to know that secret.

troll with down rigger like any lake trout lake , what works at cold lake or lake minnewanka will work at ghost , troll close to the bottom. we caught 2 lakers on the down rigger, and one rainbow on the surface.

If I had a dollar for every time I trolled that lake with downriggers I could retire. WAIT A MINUTE I AM RETIRED

Met a guy who lives and farms just north of the lake and all he uses is a sliver gray flatfish. Trolls it with a dodger and maybe 2 onces of weight seems to catch quite regularly. Tried it but no luck here.

I will just keep with Minnewanka for my laker fishing.

Nice Catch! Was going to go for a troll tomorrow afternoon - are the fish up high or is a downrigger needed?
