Default Fly Fishing Ottawa area

I'm off to Ottawa for some work/vacation and I'm going to bring my fly rod and I'll like to give it a try for various panfish as I've never fished for them before. I'm open to try for other fish too, just need to wet some lines in a different area.

Can anyone recommend any interesting places to try outside of Ottawa within an hour? I'll have a car but probably won't bring my waders or any boat, but might wet wade as I'm thinking the waters there are already warmer than here.

I'm definitely going to try some of the local areas within the Ottawa river as I found a good website that lists a bunch of places on the Ottawa and Rideau rivers.

ottawa river - I would drive to the quebec side and hit deschenes rapides for trout, then to the aylmer marina for perch, sunfish, bluegill, crappy, small mouth off the pier. Then drive to luskville and fish the shallow weedy area of black bay for gar pike And bass. you may be able to get into some cat fish after dark from shore but usually need a boat to get out a little.

the variety in that river is insane. You can in one spot pull up small and large mouth bass, all kinds of panfish, pike, walleye, gar pike, catfish, eels. Also has trout, sturgeon and musky all within the 30-40km stretch from the deschene rapids to quyon dam

The Rideau River is a good spot. South west near Kempville.

There is a club that I found but it doesn't seem that busy, http://ottawaflyfishers.com/ and I just happened to miss their last outing

I stuck mostly at work this last week in Ottawa so I've only had a little opportunity to hit the Rideau locally for a few hours at a time. Mostly only been getting various sunfish as you're not allow to target bass currently. People talk about some huge musky right in town so I might give it a shot this weekend, I brought my large bull trout streamers just for that.
