Default Blood Indian

Anyone know if Blood is ice free yet. This is a good time to fish there before it gets stocked.

Thanks Lakeman

Are you sure about that? I was there last year camping and lots of boats on the lake. And it is not listed on the electric motors only list here:

It is not about motors, it is about speed. This lake, and others, are for fishing and families, not about racing or PWC's and as such are restricted to trolling speeds.
This might not be the correct thread for this sermon, but as a fisherman, I cannot understand a boater's obsession with "hole shots" and 48mph. Fishing is all about relaxing and enjoying the life we work so hard to achieve. Explain to me why fishing or any other outdoor sport involves work. WORKING to keep the boat, RV, quad in a straight line without bouncing your passengers or running into other players?
You want to drive fast in your boat then you should become a tournament pro angler (kinda has a nice ring to it) and race to your honey hole before that other 350 hp flat bottom bass boat gets there before you. Of course that would mean moving back to Ontario where fishing has become a competition to slay the last fish standing. I for one will not miss you.
Nothing worse than sitting in my boat being rocked by prop wash and 2' wakes and angry cries of "get out of my way". Or casting into a quiet brook and having several full-race quads roar up the stream. And I haven't even begun to rant about water skiers, correction, wake-boarders that these days own the waters and the beaches.
Race boats have their place; that place is not a fishing lake or a stocked pond. I spent a couple of summers on the beaches of the Okanagan so I think I can tell the difference. Dave Si

Yes there are speed restrictions on the lake thankfully but unless things have suddenly changed gas motors are allowed.
Common sense should prevail on smaller lakes anyway but you can always get people who are a little confused about what is too fast for a small body of water.

Just drove by and lake is ice free.
Carolside is also ice free with some ice on shore.
Speed limit on Blood is 12 kph. Gas motors are allowed.
