I think I'm going to tell my kids to watch this and see if they can learn anything from it. None of them have been in trouble with the law and hopefully it stays that way but I think there is a lesson to be learned here and that is to get a lawyer. Even if you've got nothing to hide the authorities are trained to ferret things out that could be taken out of context.

Going through the series I changed my mind on guilty / not guilty several times. In the end, had I been on the jury, would have had "reasonable doubt". My gut feel is Avery was no saint before his first stint in jail and that it twisted the little grey matter he has.
The kid was taken advantage of and should get a retrial, his first lawyer was a POS.
It was clear whether Avery was guilty or not, the Wisconsin penal system was going to get a conviction at all costs.

If you took the time to watch this, spend another 5 hours and watch the jinx.

My Wife and I started watching this a few nights ago and we're on episode 6 or 7 tonight. Pretty interesting and I won't comment on what I've seen so far....I didn't even read the thread for fear of spoilers. We like the "Dateline" type mysteries so this one is right up our alley and I'd recommend it for anyone else who enjoys that type of program.
