Default Who was Jack Welsh ?

Wondering if anybody would know the history here. Had lunch with Jack last week but it was kind of a one sided conversation. He's been residing on Williams Creek, behind Red Deer river Ranches since 1966, a little under the weather, so to speak. Interesting that one could have a private grave on Crown land this late in time. Nice location to spend Eternity if you are an outdoors kind of Guy.

He was famous for building log barns etc. in the area. He may have built most of the Forestry Barns. He did all the log work on the barn at the Bar 75.

A friend of mine is going to talk to Glen Kilgour and Bob Jos for more info.

Interesting!

There also was a FN grave beside there. It was framed with a bunch of logs.

Thanks, actually been wondering a long time, finally went to have a close look I remember a " grave" down on the flats below Welsh. A log enclosure about 6 or 8 ft. square. Overgrown with willows and no obvious marker. Logs are probably all gone by now. Jim Lowry's, former ranch manager, ashes are buried across the road and John Morgans are buried on the hill above the buildings. A bronze plaque on a rock marks it. Veritable cemetery there.

There is a fenced area and grave marker behind a Fire tower we used to hunt behind. I suspect special considerations can be made.
