I am relatively high (should be about 85 years old when I get drawn if they continue giving out the same number of tags
) in the WMU 437 sheep draw. My understanding with this draw is that you could not build priority in any other sheep draw and bring over to the 34 draw code for 437 Sheep?
I started tracking the results in 2010 when I was a priority 10 with the highest priority at the time of 14. I track each priority (add up first season, second season and all 999)that is equal or above my priority since 2010.
In 2010 there were 643 applicants equal or above 10 priority
2011 there were 604
2012 there were 577
2013 there were 552
2014 there were 524
2015 there were 490
Now all of a sudden in 2016 there are 547 equal or higher priority than 16 (current 2016 priority), a 57 applicant increase in 2016. Every year from 2010 to 2015 there was a decrease in applicants in every single priority group. In 2016 every single priority group except 20 had an increase.
I spoke with Alberta Relm and was told that was because some people had not applied prior years but got back into the draw. I tried explaining that mathematically it just doesn't make sense, but could get no further with them.
For example:
in 2015 there were 65 priority 19 (highest priority for 2015), of which 8 were drawn in 2015. There was also 92 priority 18.
In 2016 there were 56 priority 20 (65 less 8 drawn and obviously someone dropped out or didn't put in) but somehow there are now 112 priority 19 in 2016, up from 92 somehow in the prior year.
Now I am not looking for some bashing of the draw system, just hoping that someone might be able to answer how or why this would have increased in 2016?
Thanks,
DR
