I've shot 9mm on 300m rifle ranges and it didn't seem like he was aiming high enough to make it to a grand. Who knows.

Having seen some of the things Jerry M has done, I'd be hesitant to call BS, but oh my. He didn't look like he was aiming 150 feet high to me. I wasn't there, and if it's on the internet, it must be true.....

The ballistic calculator says 76 yard drop at 1000 yrds.
It doesn't look like he's aiming that high and if it was anybody but Miculec, I'd probably call bs, even then I'm skeptical since few shooters could do this with a rifle let alone a handgun!

The TOF seemed pretty quick for a 9mm and I think he would have held significantly higher.

Maybe he did the shot in a zero gravity chamber. Ha.

It could of happened to, wasn't there to see it done.

Was that a metal target as he showed where the 1 bullet hit as lead would take out balloon.

Makes one wonder if it's the real macoy

Not impressed.

Watch the .50 video.

A huge celebration - my trusty balloon. I'm going to hit this balloon.

Then the bullet hits like 12" low and the fragments pop it.

Same on the handgun video - but he doesn't say hes going to hit it. Just says hes going to make it pop...

Was bullet splatter that popped balloon. Seems like a fair bit of info online about the shot. They don't say how many shots he took to hit it though, prior to filming those two. My guess is he probably put a months worth of my 9mm shooting down range before he finally got it. Like fish-e-o said, monkeys and typewriters.

The fact that he is almost ready to take the next shot before they call a hit - and the surprised response to it. Heck, Jerry almost didn't believe he made the shot.

76 yards at a thousand is less than 10 degrees. Not quite an artillery volley. I believe it.

I counted just about 3 seconds TOF which although is not very scientific seems about right
I can't see Someone like him faking a shot - would not go well for his sponsors- of course I wasn't there however

OK. Forget the balloon. Jerry just made a grand hit on a 3'x6' target unsupported with a pistol.

I also believe it, mostly just because it's Jerry Miculek. I've never know him to fake or fabricate anything.

Like Twisted Canuck said though, who knows how many shots it took him to get there. You don't just holder over with a red dot on a revolver and smack a plate at a grand on your second shot... Probably why they cut to the shot of him loading the gun, so they could just splice in the clip of him making the shot.

Jerry has better things to do than BS his fans and mess up a lifetime of hard work and thousands of hours over one shot.

I say it's legit considering who's video it is, but I also say those weren't the first two shots of that day trying to hit that steel.

Nah, that's not true. He would put me to shame. Jerry is an excellent shooter, he beat some of Ed's records. Some he didn't. They're very similar in ability, neither putting the other to shame.

Doubting Jerry is akin to saying you don't think Gretzky actually scored all those goals 😀
Sometime someone like Gretz or Tiger Woods (in years past) or Miceluk comes along who just flat out blows the doors off everyone else.

What is the velocity when it gets out to 1000 yards?
The speed of a rock being thrown at 50 yards?

Haven't bothered to run the numbers but probably only a couple of hundred FPS

With a muzzle velocity of 1000 fps, the velocity at 1000 yards is 574 fps.

I want to see Lefty Canuck bust that balloon at a thousand with his trusty bow. When the carbon shaft hits the steel plate, there should be enough fragments to pop it as well....where are you Lefty?

I believe it... The bullet hit light enough to be accurate for the distance, and 76 yards at a 1000 is less s than 10° aim angle... At least I think that makes sense.
