Default What's up with this?

I went fishing to the North Saskatchewan River by the Vinca Bridge (not far from Bruderheim), and fished for three hours, with no results. Even using my reliable five-of-diamonds spoon, perfect size for pike/walleye, I didn't catch anything. Why? Any tips on where else I should fish the North Saskatchewan River, or what I should change?

There are many good places to fish! Its too bad some spots have become party areas! You could try dawson park, goldbar wwtp, under the beverly bridge, laurier park, rossdale wtp, rundle park are some decent ares to try! Good luck out there....

Buck is right those are all great spots. However, the most effective way to fish the river is with live bait. Hands down. Doesn't matter in what manner you fish it Still VS. Cast I have found it to work 2-1 in the advantage of bait vs straight hardware.

I've had good success with jigs in a NSR at a few of those spots that buckmaster told you about. I havnt got the patience for pickerel rigs so for me I catch more on jigs, though I admit I am often outfished by bait fishermen. My favorite spot is below the goldbar discharge, have caught some huge walley out of there.

That sure is a nice boat in your profile pic! Must be one heck of a guide that wears pink socks while fishing

I"m guessing these areas are all inside of Edmonton. Is there any good spots North of Edmonton?

You could also try where the sturgeon river flows into the nsr. Vinca bridge is your next bet!!!
