Default Allways run into Grizzlies

I hunt 524 every year and be safe in that area we go in with argo,s and set camp with an electric fence around it 3 strands them grizzlies are a pain up there,I would even be more concerned with the wolfs they run/stock in big packs .

7 years ago, we had a sow & 3 cubs wander through our camp at night. Thank Christ they did not stop to check anything out. I guess that having yard lights and leaving the power plant running all night helped. 3 years ago, 3 of the guys got chased by a grizz at dusk, while waiting at a meeting point. Scared the bejesus out of them, as related by the 2 guys that they were waiting for - quad lights going in every direction(4 corner line). It came through the bush from the west, thus making it next to impossible to see. SRD did some surveys in there about 7 years ago. In two spots where the snares had been set, the trees were trashed, some up to 12 feet up the trunks!! Miserable suckers if you have to deal with them close up.

lol Walleyes!! Actually it is the grizz. Your family seems to have a penchant for attracting grizzlies. Could it be that all of you are their size and share their disposition? Your nephews got the last chase up there.

Yes they did,, thats one lucky bear..

I really don't see what the problem or worry is anyways.. A guy is in a hunting camp I would think there is enough fire power around to settle a small war never mind deal with a dumb azz bear..

Can you say " SHOOT, SHOVEL & SHUT UP " . There is only one way to deal with a problem and that is to deal with it !!!

Default Griz in 524

We regularly hunt 525 and 527 in November, although there is sign that they have been there we have as yet had no problems, never see a track. There is one scratching tree there that the boy has marked a good 12 feet off the ground and lots of hair on the pipeline signs. About 5 years ago one of my hunting buddies hunted 524 in the third week in November and they were still wandering around that late in 30 below. You are right about the wolves, but other than disturbing ones sleep at night they don't seem to be any trouble.
