Question Can I use 6.8 SPC brass to reload for my .30 Remington??

I know the 6.8 SPC uses the .30 Remington brass necked down to .277, but is it the same length as the .30 Remington case ?

I finally found some dies but I can't find .30 Remington brass anywhere.

HELP !!

The SPC case is too short by about .360" or so. It might be possible to fireform a SPC case in your chamber if you expanded the neck to .308" first, take your chances, i wouldn't reccomend it, probably split the neck as it expands to make the new shoulder as the remington shoulder is about .200" longer then the SPC, if you were successful forming the case the neck would only be about .200" long, 1/3 of the length of an original 30 remington neck.

Thats what I was worried about...dang. Oh well I was probably going to have a hard time find any of that brass too.

I'll keep scroungin for the real stuff.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it
