Default Fishing downtown Vancouver

My brother told me I'm going to Vancouver for a family vacation from July 27 to 31. I'm the only one in the family that likes to fish, but I can't have an ocean side vacation with no fishing.

A buddy told me to hit up the rivers for the pink run, but I have no idea where to go or what to use. A guided trip would probably be better. Any suggestions?

Couple years ago my dad and i went on a Sturgeon trip from downtown Vancouver. There were a few charters to choose from. Google should point you in the right direction.

Sturgeon charters out of Chilliwack . I'm sure there are some local salmon charters as well, but I doubt they are impressive.
If you just want to fish the salt water from shore, head up towards Squamish on the sea to sky highway. Several places to access the rocky shore. There's a marine park with camping at Porteau , about half way between Vancouver and Squamish I've fished from shore under the second narrows bridge and from the dock at the grain elevators nearby.

Sea run cutthroats should be in on the beach between white rock and crescent beach. On a silver fly or spinning with a spoon. High tide at dusk works well

You would be a few weeks too early for the pink runs in the rivers so possibly try a guided sturgeon trip out of Mission or Chilliwack or as suggested the coast towards Squamish.

The mouth of the Capilano (Ambleside Beach area) or the Seymour rivers are other possibilities.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can anyone recommend a few ideas for fishing in mid-September in Vancouver?
