Default Wax on Federal .22 ammo???

Who knows why Federal puts wax on their cheapie 22 ammo? Possible problems from using that ammo, say 1000 rnds a year or more? I shoot a 5 yr old Browning BLR lever action and it takes any ammo whatsoever but im curious if im damaging this sweet rifle.

I think its lube to keep the fouling down. My neighbour who casts his own bullets puts some kind of waxy crap on them to keep them from fouling up his guns too bad. I've put a tone of those federal bullets through my 10/22 and its still working fine.

On three occasions this year I have shot over 1000 rounds of Federal Value pack ammo through my 10/22 in one day.
Not once have I had a problem. If you clean your gun when your done shooting it you should never have any problems.
