Connected on this beauty 4x4 last night with my old Hoyt couldn't be more excited about him was an absolute rush. Hunting back in the thick bush 300yards before the field. 4 does and a this guys came cruising through with 10 minutes left of the legal light. Does went through my first shooting lane buck was heading towards it I was at full draw he stops holding full draw for must have been 4 min does have me busted stomping the ground he makes a step forward not where I want him I see a small window so I shoot. He runs forward into my next shooting land at 34 yards knock another arrow quick and perfect double lung shot

Couldn't help myself
Got this little guy on the weekend. Was hoping for a 180"er but got a 80"er instead, lol. 12 yard shot right through the heart. Best eating deer I have ever shot. Sorry, I can't figure out how to rotate the pic

My first harvest ever. Second year shooting bow and second year hunting. Spotted at 78 yards and stalked into 44 to take the shot. Over the counter unit on public land during bow season.

Within 5 days we had 4 animals down. My Moose and my friends Elk with archery gear, the other two were taken once rifle season opened.

Connected with my first animal with my bow!!
Despite it being windy and raining last night I decided to go for an evening hunt. Managed to connect with guy at 47 yards at 5:55pm last night. I have to say that I am very impressed with what a 1 3/4" Razortip Grim Reaper does. Blood trail about forty yards long that a blind person could follow.

My wife's 51" Alberta Archery Bull Moose
Here's link to the video of the big bull my wife arrowed this September. It was her second big archery bull in a row - last year, almost to the day, she got another very nice bull. Both her bulls were taken from the same stand - near Hinton Alberta. Very proud of her - she self filmed the whole thing and got two different camera angles.

Thanks - we try hard to get good footage, even though sometimes it a real pain. Packs get fairly large with all the camera gear we carry around, but we only do it for the challenge and satisfaction.

Ajones, :-)
Very few times I have seen a shot taken so right.
All the stuff I preach about self control was spelled out right there in that
vidieo.
To draw and wait then back down, then draw and wait then release,
when the moose turned then stopped. Then to draw and shoot was an
ecact calculated move upon the bowhunter.
Oh hell yea.
What a great shot.
Thank you for posting, many many other's don't give it that kind of deication.
I've been in so many situations where they don't turn or just walk away.
What a great outcome this was, thank you all for posting.
After all these posts of these magnificant animals I have to say,
I'm impressed by what you did. How you shot the aniamal.

Thanks for the nice feedback. She did an amazing job! That was her second big bull in a row and she made great shots every time. We've certainly had lots of situations when they don't turn and they do walk away and it's all part of the game. Self filming adds a whole other level to the challenge.

Yes - second angle is on go-pro at ground level and controlled by an app on smartphone. It doesn't always work, and can break your heart sometimes (as it seems to disproportionately malfunction when an animal is there), but when it works, you can get some really nice footage.

I have considered doing exactly the same thing but have never set it up yet. Would be hard now with low temperatures and gloved hands. Worked out amazing. loved the double angles.

My bull moose (quite a bit smaller than my wife's)
Here's a short video of my bull moose from 2017:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBzuAdrrO8Y
As all my friends and family have kidded me - my moose was significantly smaller than my wife's 2017 bull (51" wide compared to about 14"). Also she made quite a bit better shot than I did, but if you watch the video, you'll see I had somewhat of an excuse - it was the first time I'd shot my bow in two weeks. I did manage to get it on three camera angles, which was cool.
I was super stoked to have had to opportunity to get a shot, as two weeks before I wasn't sure if I was going to be out of commission for longer. I also didn't have to pack any of my moose out (1 km uphill) - which was a first. Thank goodness for wives and good friends (who will come out on a Sunday night to help you pack moose)!

I’m sure there’s a few of you that seen my elk on face book but I thought I would post a few pics here for the guys and gals that didn’t get to see him. I’ve been bow hunting for ten years and been very lucky to harvest elk with my bow multiple times but this is by far my best ever! Green scored 364 and change.

I've been chasing a bull elk like that for 5 years, and I can't even imagine what it would be like to close the deal. Congrats.
