New boat tarp - pics
Hi all,
My kids and I won the Northern Alberta AYA tournament earlier this year so we took home the Lund A-12 boat, trailer, and a 5 hp Merc 4 stroke outboard. My son has his boat license and will be driving his own vehicle next year so we decided to keep it for the kids to use whenever they want to go fishing.
The boat obviously doesn’t come with a tarp and generic ones never seem to fit right, so I called an old family friend that does upholstery and had one made up out of Top Gun material. I thought I would share the results.
We made a small flap at the back that can fold down inside the boat if the motor is on, or cover up the hole for winter when the motor is inside the garage.

Looks great. Be curious how that tarp does on the highway - that's always the big test for me.

Hi,
Your tarp looks good. Do you think your friend would be interested in making more boat tarps? I am currently deciding what to do for my boat. I don't want to break the bank, but at the same time, I know a lot of tarps out there are garbage. If your friend would be interested, could you pm me some contact info?
Thanks,
Chris

I towed it home, about a 30 minute drive at highway speeds, and it had no issues. I did add a small pole with a mushroom cap for storage at home to keep the rain and snow from pooling. That pole does not stay put for trailering.

Nice! I was going to suggest a pole for storage but you have that covered already. Fine boat and tarp for sure.
