RV led lights

I replaced all the lights in my RV and 4 of them are on a on/off switch that is also dimmable. I purchased dimmer led 12v bulbs but they are so dim when on the batteries and when operating the dimmer can barely notice a difference.Do I need to buy a different switch now. Anyone run into this problem or have a solution.
