I have a line on one, about 3 years old. Haven't seen it yet.
Was going to commit to buy it this weekend. Then I read here in the forums that there are many people that have several issues with Remington and the model 700.
I'm not going to be putting a lot of rounds through it, just hunting.
I had one for about a year actually and i had great luck with it. worked up a load that was shooting probably close to half inch groups with the out of the box rifle. Also a great looking gun, and light to carry. I liked it.
I have three 700 Rems and they all work fine,I have one in the CDL and it has been flawless.People have to accept that sometimes a company like Remington is going to have a lemon slip through the cracks and all the flags get raised on these sites. You shouldn't have a problem.
I've never had any issues with any 700 I've owned. Most 700's will shoot better than a rifle you will pay twice as much for...and I do own some of those too. Out of the box, they are as good a rifle as you can buy and better than most.
i was actually selling one on this site, then took it off because the more i looked at it the more i couldnt bare to sell it. and some good advice from another AO member . nice rifle , really pretty.
i guess theres no such thing as too many rifles.
I have a 700 with the same stainless action & fluted barrel as the CDL SF, but in a laminated thumbhole stock. It's a .30-06 and it shoots 1/2 MOA groups; I found it so accurate that when I saw the CDL SF came out in .30-06 I got one of them for my boy on the day he was born, as it should probably shoot pretty much the same as mine. Its all sealed up for long term storage. ( I guess I technically have that one as well, but it's not mine, and its unfired)
