Yes, the score would generally be higher if one team didn't have a goalie.

What was he blaming them for, just said they'd been horrid? And if you think they've been so great, I'd love to hear why Zadorov got a 5 minute major for fighting when he didn't drop the gloves or even take a swing, he literally just stood there and got beat on.

Ah typical Flames opening game loss, pretty sure that's an annual event. Had good chances, was a pretty entertaining game. Fast.
Looocchh has already done more for the Team than Neal did all last season, so all good.
Onto The Nucks.
GFG.

Yeah 2-3 times he had no idea where the puck was at all. I call that shaky, I get that's a nightly event up North so you probably wouldn't recognize that as a problem.

I do have a question on the one Avs goal, where it was knocked down with the high stick. Did Peter's not challenge as it was non reviewable?
Was for sure a high stick.
Either was was a good game, can't win em all. Bring on the Nucks.

They made some changes this year as to what can be challenged. Looks like Peters could have challenged the missed call if it had occurred in the Av's offensive zone.
Quote:
A third category has been added to the coach's challenge rule, giving coaches the power to challenge goals that occur after plays in the offensive zone that should have resulted in a stoppage were not called.
Coaches were already permitted to challenge goals scored after the puck entered the zone offside or following interference with the goaltender.

Some missed calls go against you, some go for you. It probably evens out over the length of the season. Sucks when it's a goal in a close game.

Oh not saying that caused the loss or anything, not blaming Refs was just curious as to the rule, as well as what can be challenged.

Hey if any of you wanna see a real Alberta NHL team play have a look at the fundraiser auction thread item #14 which is 4 tickets to Oilers vs. Stars on Nov. 16th. Now is your chance to see a real team in action!!!

Better print them now, Plan the parade route and start printing the hats too!
Wait a minute, just did a check of all the "expert" prediction sites, over 2 dozen predictions and only TWO had the soilers making the playoffs. Just saying.
They are experts in quotes for a reason, but there is a definite trend there.

Rittich made that Myers save look pretty easy. Like to see that, not frantic movement, looking behind, goalie that don't really know were the puck is.
