Huh, factual evidently Lean is overpaid! A washed up 30 year old has tripled his goal output, just cause he's playing with McDavid.

All his goals are coming on the PP. Why couldn't he do that with Johhny, Monny, Gio, and Brodie? Head scratcher for sure.

Can always tell when Oil have a good night on same night the Flames are off to a bad night. The Oil fans are lined up to chat.
Pretty crazy how Neal did absolutely nothing here then lights out so far. Oh well all I care is he gets 21 goals. Other than that don't give a rip.

Flames are making a game out of it. But. Thachuk is definitely the modern day Kenny Linseman.

Flames need to tighten up on the back side. Out shot every game so far. Quite a difference from last year. What’s going on there? Only a few games in but that has to change quick.

That goal was kinda suspect... even Kelly thought it was a high stick.

Clearly a high stick. How’d that one not get called back?

I thought the same on the LA goal. Flames had a goal scored against them as well against the Avs that was for sure a high stick, wasn't called. Win some loose some. Worst part other than the loss is Doughty scored the winner ugh. HaHa Bennett will be going back to the third line after that gaff..

LA didn't even challenge it. Wonder if they say something we didn't?

Amazing 2nd and 3rd periods...
So much fun and I do not know how much they showed of MT Vrs Daughty Every chance he was all over him. He really got under his skin.
So much fun and disappointing at the same time. I 100% will be going to the next King game.
Daughty dancing in the corner was right below us. Not sure what those fans did but MAN....
Awesome time!
Lucic is quickly becoming a fan favourite. MT looks like the MT of 2 years ago. It's going to be a hell of a season!
Next up is me and the kids in Vegas this Saturday night for the Flames/Knights game. Soooooo looking forward to this.

All the oilers joking about looch, but his role is different on the flames team. Did his job last night. Down 3 goals and he fights the giant. Turned the game around actually......

I of course don't like the contract, but you're correct, I don't think anyone expects Looch to score 20 and play on the first line. Given his role, I've liked his play for the first three games.
And annoying as it is to see Neal score 4 in one game, he wasn't going to do that on the Flames. With Hall, Eberle, Strome, Maroon, etc. leaving in the last few years and excelling elsewhere, the Oilers have more than paid into that kitty.

Yes, we are sitting in a club called "Hyde" Expensive arena but what in Vegas isnt?
My kids are just over the Mon between Vegas and this game. We say goodby to my Daughter on Monday and then Willy and I drive over to Phoenix for a tour of the ASU campus. Hopefully Willy will be attending next fall.
It's a multi pronged trip but it will be fun!

I don't think that there was a high stick on the Tkachuk goal. Here's why.
IIRC there are two types of high stick when playing the puck. The rule is a bit more complicated but this is the basic idea.
First; it is illegal for a player to contact the puck with their stick if the puck is above their shoulder.
Second; if the puck is higher than the cross bar, it is illegal for a player to direct the puck into the net with their stick.
The rule differentiates whether the puck goes into the net or not.
Tkachuk contacted the puck twice with his stick.
When he directed the puck into the net, IMO, the puck was clearly lower than the cross bar when he made contact, so that was a legal play.
On the first contact with the puck, the puck seems to be above the crossbar, but, IMO, it was not clear if the puck was above his shoulder. Todd McLellan could have challenged the call if he thought the puck was higher than Tkachuk' shoulder. This year, teams get a minor penalty for a failed coach's challenge, so my guess is McLellan didn't think that it was an obvious high stick and decided not to take the risk.

I'd forgot about that high stick rule but a buddy explained it yesterday. He was annoyed with the announcers as they kept on going about it being a high stick relative to the crossbar when that has no relevancy to the play.

Will never understand how when an embellishment penalty is called, the other player still gets a penalty. Guess that's an automatic when you have #19 on your back in front of the net.
