Then it will be just like all the others.
I am getting so disappointed in government at all levels. But I will wait and see what happens today.
In Edmonton for goodness sake the heart of oil country they are so empowered they can do whatever they want.

Now we get to see what our new police chief is made of. I expect him to cave but maybe he will show some spine. I also expect Donny I and Nutley to be standing in solidarity soon at the crossing.
How ironic it would be if Oil rich Enoch members are part of the blockade.

What? Donny I is not already out there. I thought for sure he'd be the one manning the burn barrel!

Sure hope none of the anarchists cleans the lint out of his/her pocket and throws it in the burn barrel; and forgot that they had some firecrackers in there.....

Sad part about this whole thing is that it just drives the racism wedge even deeper, all driven by the govt. , where they talk as if they are building bridges in this country between races and touting our incredible multicultural society, ya right, most people just decide to hate the particular race because of a incredibly weak prime minister. I actually hope this gets really ugly where there is no chlorine for water supply’s, animals have to be euthanized because there is no propane to heat barns, massive layoffs, complete **** show, to give the fine folks of this country an reminder of how big of an oops they made at the last federal election, need a leader in this country that has a spine, god help us, 4 more years of this

This is a common theme with this government. Project goes to them for the rubber stamp, they stall on it, their stall shows as weakness, it draws attention, activists move in and force it into a mess. The govt are as responsible and should also be lumped in with the blockaders - they all should be tossed in jail to failing to follow the rule of law!

Im not in favor of what they are doing, however I am gonna look at it from this angle:
The more we see this, the more people will be forced to realize:
We have no leadership in the provinces, federally, or in policing
We are being held hostage by a group of special interests and a small handful of FN.
Our "leaders" are scared of them. They are weak.
The more this happens, and the longer it plays out is actually good.
Because SOMEONE other than what we have in office will make a decision.
The perpetual hand wringers like Trudeau and his gaggle of idiots, the RCMP, the other Police agencies, are showing their lack of ability to everyone. And Im loving it because this group of terrorists are taking over.
Lord please let it be a woman who finally puts an end to their terrorist activities. To me, thats the perfect scenario.
Dont get me wrong. I dont support the blockades. But I do believe that their actions will show that these elected people are simply weak and incapable and scared.
I hope Canadians remember these events. Acts of terrorism on our soil in 2020. And our politicians and police did absolutely nothing (except run photo radar which I saw a few minutes ago)

Yup, well said.
If the UWR is planning that protest for later today I bet the RCMP "choose" to intercept the group before they get there. Hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me with what we have seen from our leaders and law enforcement as of late....

It is a terrorist act. This is what we have a military for.
They hunt them down on the streets of Khandahar. Now hunt them down on the streets of Kanada.

For anyone that has an interest in delving a bit deeper into the truth behind what the origins are of the situation that precipitated this, than the link below is worth reading.
It is a concise compilation of mostly indigenous and some non-indigenous contributions from the people of the Bulkley Valley.

Why is this not public knowledge? Why does the media ignore this? Why do our politicians hide from this?

Actually 1881..when the first train came to Alberta.
I have not been engaged in this conversation but did listen to this politician last night. I don't know anything about this politician and am not endorsing any one political party. I just listened to what she had to say. I had never listened to her speak before. She has some points to ponder about the laws in place and just why our elected officials have maybe not reacted with force.

Interesting. Thanks for posting. I'm sure the "real"? people will have to clarify what is what as some point as far as who is chief and who isn't.

As expected, some citizens are clearing out the tracks west of Edmonton
So while the politicians fret and hide, citizens get the job done
Now THAT'S the Canada I knew!
Makes you wonder why in hell we put up with spineless useless politicians.
Now if citizens metaphorically " clear the tracks" of useless politicians and police "leaders" in the future, Canadians will finally regain control of this nation.
That would make a good catch phrase for the next election eh? CLEAR THE TRACKS?
Has a nice ring to it
Maybe get Eddie Shack to endorse it

Good thing the province got off those crude rail tanker contracts a few weeks ago.
