Needed a fishin' buddy that didn't have the virus so I made it....always agrees where we are setting up...never late....doesn't eat my lunch...perfection.

Carved these out of wooden dowels some years back. They run shallow with a good wobble, always a thrill to catch a pike on one, far more rewarding than catching a bunch of pike on a Rapala! Took them to Ontario once to my sister's cottage and the bass loved them.

The newest design I have finished. This is a slow sinking spy bait. Also trying a new paint pattern on this. This is the first in this design and I will be increasing the sink rate. Always a pain trying to get a countdown style sinking rate

Once I tweak the buoyancy a little it should be a good finesse bait for pike or even walleye. Straight retrieve or a twitch and slow fall retrieve style lure.

I have thought that a spy bait could be a good option for late spring\early summer pike(you know that time when all pike seems to "lose" their teeth). I find that when the weeds are half-height, the pike gets a good look at a bait so they can get picky. In general, that is the time I am burning big baits around. It would be nice to have something on the other side of the spectrum.
Now, if I can just figure out how to drop-shot with my big 6" paddle tails.

Never drop shot swimbaits but I have rigged them weedless on a Carolina rig with good results for sluggish pike.
