Default Holiday Rooster hunt

Well, I got back yesterday from my holiday week down south of Raymond. It was great time with lots of birds and deer sighted. I did find that the number of hunters was down from last year, could be the economy. I did have hunters try to hunt areas right in front of me but there were enough birds to go around if you have a good dog! My only complaint is that the birds were mainly all young of the year. I let many go that were not fully colored up yet, but of the birds I did get, only 2 of them were mature birds. Photos attached are of my 39.5" rooster with 1 ' spurs! Biggest set of spurs I have seen on a rooster in 28 years of hunting!

What kind of dog do you have? I've been out a few time this year without one and haven't stirred up too many birds... I think I need a dog this off season!

Hi Uncle, I'm attaching a photo of my lab with the bird. She's going on 12 now but she has been and is the pheasant hunting partner I have had! As for getting this bird mounted, no I'm not. I already have 2 roosters done and I did donate another one to a school / class for species ID purposes. I have enough now in the house unless something really special comes along!!
