Default Pike tumor Lac La Biche

Hey everyone, had a great weekend fishing Lac La Biche this weekend, lots of very healthy walleye in the 60-65cm range, and a lot of large healthy pike. One of the pike caught had a large yellow growth on the top of its head. The fish appeared healthy in every other sense, fought well, etc. Wondering if this is relatively common or something that a biologist of some sort might benefit from. I have caught several walleye/perch with "stress warts" or whatever they are called but this was unlike anything I have ever seen.

Thanks,

I would contact my local Fish Bio

phone 310 0000 and ask for fish bio in your area

this site has info on diseases in Alberta

Sorry, don’t want to derail your thread. Just wondering how thick the ice was there lately? Tia

All good, well over 2 feet thick. We fished just off the ice road at the old mission.
