First ice Brook Trout

Here's a quickie report from North West of Grande Prairie!

Woke up this morning in Kinuso with 5 cm's of snow on the ground....!!!! wooo hooo winter is here!

So I drove west to a lake that they stock with brookies.

and brookies is what i caught!! finaly made it on the ice.

here's a couple pictures of the day!

Nice fish. I am planning on trying for brookies tomorrow near Edmonton, what lures work for them?

all i was using today was a buckshot rattle spoon with gulp alive 3" minnows.

the smaller the better....

I won't mention the name of the lake, but it is likely the same one we were at a few days back, before the snow of course!!
