Default PAL Question

Can a friend who doesnt have a PAL (has taken the course and submitted paper work) borrow my gun to go hunting with their other friend? Other friend has an active PAL.

Having taken the course and submitted the paperwork means nothing. You can turn the firearm over , only if a person with a valid PAL is present, to take responsibility for the firearm.

As Elkhunter said. You can lend the rifle to the other friend who has a PAL. That person is then responsible for it. If they choose to lend it to your friend that is fine, but they have to be in direct supervision. At no point can your friend be left alone with the with rifle or without someone who holds a valid PAL.

If the friend without a PAL can posses a firearm provided he is hunting with someone with a valid PAL and in "direct communication" at all times. Basically if he is standing within arms reach of someone with a PAL at all times then it is ok. The person without a PAL can not take custody of the firearm and then meet someone with a PAL at a later date.

Short answer, YES... But, "other friend with PAL" has to pick the gun up from you. No card means no guns.
