are you in the market for an inverter genny?
Just got back from the TsuTina Costco. When I walked in the door they had 8 or 10 Champion inverter generators on sale for $670. 3500 running watts and 4500 watts max. They are definitely louder than a Honda or Yamaha, but not that much. 61 db. Google tells me Honda 3000 is 50 to 57db and 60db would be equal to conversation in a restaurant, typical background music or an air conditioner at 100 feet. 3500 watts would easily run AC on pretty much any RV. Didn't get a weight.
Pretty good deal if you are in the market.

61 decibels at idle is very loud, can't imagine noise while running air conditioner, micro wave or a kurag coffee maker 68decibels at 50%load! Honda at idle lists it at 49 decibels and full load at 59 decibels, that champion is going to be louder at idle than a Honda at full load. most neighbours are going to have a problem.
best to leave it at store. 2champion 2000 w generators run in tandem will be way quieter , cost half as much, 51 decibels at idle.

My brother just picked it up yesterday. We put it beside my honda and its not comparable noise wise. Its like night and day at full load but from 50 feet You dont hear the honda in my truck box but you hear the champion.

an increase of 3 dB is roughly twice as loud
61dB is not quiet by any stretch of the imagination. Cheap however - will likely work OK.
If you want Honda quality - buy a Honda. Nothing else compares, but every other manufacturer tries

I know it won't be quiet but that is not my biggest concern as I will be using it on my acreage. At 1/4 the price of a Honda 3000 I can leave it locked in the shed and won't be absolutely gutted if it's stolen, plus it's t 40lbs lighter so I can lift it myself.
I agree I would never use it in a packed campground but I don't use my Honda 2000 either. Won't run the A/C and anything else I can get to work of Solar

I have had that unit for years. It gets used ~10 to 15 hours per year. No issues running. It does not like to start at 30 below, but 15 minutes inside beside the wood stove and away she goes.
The noise I find low to moderate, but it I do not have anybody within 5 km of me and as such it is a moot point.

Exactly cause tight wad won’t pay for a power stall I’ve been where neighbor puts genny behind his van so it annoys neighbour instead of putting it on his side where it’s louder for him. Buy a Honda or Yamaha

Leave at the store? Jeepers folks, everyone hits the panic button assuming whomever buys these are going to be your neighbour at the campground. Ever consider this could be used at a construction site? Perhaps on ones acreage. How about the fishing camp 300 miles north of civilization.
Heck of a good deal!!

I appreciate you and other guys doing this. Last year a member put up info on solar panels from Canuck tire and I got a few. So your helping guys save a buck more then the white noise is hurting this thread, good on you in my opinion.

I have the regular champion generator and it works great. A bit noisy. But we camp out west. And when I turn mine off, in the background, all I hear is generators lol.
The one posted by the op looks like a smoking deal.
Keep posting these deals guys never mind the haters. Someone a couple of weeks ago mentioned something about dog kennels at peavey mart. I checked them out and it was exactly what we were looking for. Some of us appreciate this info.

Pretty good deal if you are in the market.

Thanks for sharing this info, some here will use this info you provided to go get one…some that won’t go get one just like to keep stirring the unwanted pot…so to speak…
This generator defiantly has its place.
Thanks

I bought a new generator last year and it is awesome. Generac 3000 inverter, $1000.00, 60lbs, and one of the guys I camp with said it's quieter than his honda 3000 inverter. I can't find the dB on it but very happy with it.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the positive feedback! You are right. Works for some and others not so much. Each to their own. If I see another good price on something I'll post it!

And the best thing about Costco, if it won't start or have any trouble with it, just back she goes and come home with a new one.
Try that with a honda or a yammy.
