whats your coyote rig and load?
I thought i'd like to see what ever one is shooting their coyotes with. I use my model 700 bdl 25-06, was shooting 75 v-max's but cant find'em anywhere this year so i order 75 sierra hollow points. Hopefully they work as good, will post pics later. But anyway every body lets see what ya use.

I love the 25-06 but have yet to work out a coyote friendly load but the tails are always in good shape

Rem 700 LVSF .223, trigger done down to about 2lbs, Talley LW rings (lapped) which will be wearing a Leupold VX3 3.5-10x40 B&C matte scope. Soon it will be sitting in a McSwirely in a Remington Hunter (Sako 75 style of stock), 70% medium blue and 30% black with stainless Williams bottom metal. Then I need to figure out what it likes best...

7mm Rem Mag 139 gr. Hornady SST infront of 70gr.s of Reloader 22.. 3350fps sure doesn't leave much behind but my first coyote while out elk hunting so it had to be that way. it pretty much gutted itselft so maybe a nice sleeping dog mount?

so after just getting my first coyote this year and loking for many more... let me ask this Q in this topic... whats the best long range caliber rifle/bullet... (talking out to 400m or so) with the smallest dammage to the hide? And also... where do you want to aim so that you dont have a huge exit wound? (I ask because my 7mm blew a 8 inch wide exit hole in the belly of a pup i shot this yr...)

I use my Tikka 22-250 alot. I've used my BBR 25-06 with great results as well. The 75gr. Sierra HP shoot well for me, but it doesn't seem to shoot well further out.
Lately I've been using my 257 Wby with 100gr. Hornady bullets. It's overkill, but I can really wack em out there. I'm not saving the hide though.

Yikes those things must fly!!!
I loaded some 120gr Barnes TSXes(7mm mag) and could reach out and touch things a long ways out!
If I was a better shot it would be deadly!!

.300 wby with 180 gr. partitions. Great practice on those running shots with the same rifle used for deer season. Practice makes perfect
