Sheep opener
So who is all headed out?
Got my horses all shoed(my back and legs hate me lol)
Pack boxes packed.
Everything in the horse trailer. Ready to leave at 5am
Plans changed for me this year. With work buying out another company on September 1 and I am going to be looking after the change over, i had to adjust plans. Was planning on going at the end of September with my best friend.
Now going for the opening and my wife is coming(first year for her)
Had to change where we were going as well, originally the ride in would have been 9hrs but my wifes knees would not have handled that. So headed into a bit of a new area. I have scouted it before and taken my wife for a overnight there so i hope it works out.
Also packing my 7mm not the old 54cal cap and ball(since she is not hunting just along for the trip)
In the past I have always had another shooter with me, so if a ram was close enough for the smoke pole then I would shoot, if not the other guy would.
So alot of new this year.
New gunworks revic tripod( spotting scope and rifle mount)
New Sig 2200 range finder.
New tent whiteduck bcanvas bell tent.
Will post some pictures of the trip when I get back, regardless if I get a ram.
This will be the 17th season for me. No ram yet but I have never gotten very concerned about that.
Hope everyone else has a great trip as well.

Best of luck out there and stay safe.
Back to work wednesday so will miss the opener once again this year. Will do a few short trips this year.
Just got back a few days ago from a sheep hunt in Oregon. Hunt of a lifetime even though I wasn't the shooter so this season is already a success for me. Tagging along on a desert sheep hunt in December as well so if I don't get out a lot here, it will still be a great season

Ended up cancelling my plans this year due to a family matter I have to deal with at the beginning of Sept.
Looks like it's going to be a fall fishing trip instead which is always enjoyable but not quite as much exercise LOL!!
Good Luck to all that venture out this year.......hoping next year I can get out 1 more time to try for my 3rd ram.

I picked up on that, poor attempt at humour in return on my part I guess.
Won't be a lot of residents out sheep hunting the opener via a draw tag.
