Default Drawn for Turkey

Hi: I was drawn for Turkey next spring. I am looking for an outfitter in Southern Alberta that can take us. Recommendations, please.
I live in Northern Alberta,

Thank you,

Hoopi

Any ballpark idea what a hunt like this would cost? I have enough priority to draw my turkey tag but haven't had any time in the last few years to do any scouting to make it worth drawing. Didn't even think about an Outfitter.

Brent blew my mind how expensive he was. But I guess it’s a once and a lifetime draw now. Expensive turkey.

X2 I have hunted 3 of the 4 species in the states. With and without a guide and have been lucky enough that I was drawn 2 different times in Ab. Had success each time but it was by no means an easy hunt. Some land owners just did not want any hunters no matter if you were just chasing a turkey or not. They seem to put all hunters into the road hunters basket.

That being said I had my best luck in the lundbrik falls area. Good people and had no issues gaining access. i killed my first tom in the Porcupine hills and it was a challenge. It was in the first season they were drawn and too many guys running around with their dogs trying to point or flush a tom lol

My advise to you is study all the utube videos then make sure you allow your self plenty of time to hunt and scout. And be prepared to put the miles on.

Good friend of mine got drawn for turkey this year and booked a hunt next spring with Brent. He was quoted $2,100 for a guided 5 day hunt or $2,650 which included meals and lodging.

Sounded quite reasonable to me

When I first read this I thought, " holy crap, for a Turkey?"

Then I thought
- what would it cost me to travel/stay/time off to scout?
- can I get enough permission in an area to have a chance at finding birds?
- 9-10 years of priority points burned if i don't/can't find birds in the first place

$2100 doesn't sound that bad considering.

Not bad at all really.

When I do draw I want the odds of success in my favour !
