Default 50 bmg ammo

Just curious if anyone knows the legality of selling / buying 50 bmg ammo these days?

I know the guns that can shoot this ammo found their way on to one of the lists of scary items a while back but what about the ammo.

Reading a few other forms / classifieds got me thinking.

Thanks

Not Necessarily so.

https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/kinetic-energy

Plug the info for it or any ammunition round into this Calculator if the Energy exceeds 10,000 joules its not legal

Most BMG rounds are 500 -700 Grains traveling an average of 2600-2900 FPS or faster so a 700 grn Bullet at 2900 FPS has a muzzle energy of almost 18K Joules so not legal.
At least for use in Canada

The rifle is prohibited, but does the law state that the ammunition is prohibited?

I have seen nothing saying it is illegal to sell it or posses it as far as the ammunition goes.

^THIS!

I was lucky and sold my BMG approximately 6 months before the ban. I still have some rounds I loaded (souvenirs). The ammo is not banned.

I rolled 234gr of H50BMG with the 750gr A-Max bullets @2770fps (25c).
