Anyone know if Keho or Park Lake are drivable right now? Or possibly Forty Mile?

Default Calling Lake

Hello folks!
Just got off of calling lake 21-24" of ice depending on location. Pretty good trails coming off the provincial park and small heave to cross right at entrance. This might need to be mowed down if it grows any more. Approx 10" of snow on the ice and I was able to drive anywhere with the 4 X 4.

Cheers,
DaveF

We got on the ice about 0830ish....from the south end and the ramp is good.

Ice is really hard and 28" of it.

Fishing was very slow...you name it, we threw at them....

I don't know what the problem was? Maybe a pressure change, a chinook? One thing was for sure, the ice was very active and that first big CRACK startled me...haha

Counted over 20 trucks on the ice.

Still better than a day at work...

20-24" of ice. 6" of packed snow. Easy getting on and around with a truck or all-wheel-drive suv

Default North Wabasca

Just got back from 2 days at North Wabasca. Ice is 21” with approx 10” of snow on top. A few areas had flood water but most of the area I was in was good. Great ice roads to ice village, if you go beyond it’s advised you have a shovel or chains.
Cheers,
DaveF

I was there this past weekend. The warm weather has some water running around on the surface. Ice is 21”. There is an ice heave that is on the east side of the lake and runs north and south pretty much the full length. Lots of vehicles all over. This warmer weather isn’t helping only

Thanks for this old dog. Do you know if you can get onto the lake from the north end through the resort?

Does anyone know what its like out at Forty Mile by Bow island? was hoping to head there this weekend, or somewhere else within a few hours of lethbridge with good walleye/pike. Otherwise I'll probably head to twin valley, i know that had good ice a few weeks ago, or just go out somewhere near crowsnest pass. thanks

I was wondering if anyone has info on ice thickness at Battle. Haven’t been out there this year yet. Looking to go from the park to the corner by the 4H centre.

Just returned yesterday from a shallow SW bay. Ice is a solid 24"+/- and I had no problems accessing onto/off of the ice. Trails are somewhat muddy depending on pm temps. Fishing was slow.

deep freeze incoming for southern AB. Any concerns about ice and shorelines are for naught..... going be near 30" by the time this snap ends, in the southern reservoirs.

Was that net there? I was there too, not much action. Gonna take the quad and give it a good go. I'm sure the ice is fine but scared myself out there once.

Crawling Valley

Drove on at the south end, excellent access.

Ice was 31".

Fishing was slow.

Lots of vehicles around....we saw 25+ from where we were sitting.

Weather was great....don't forget the sunscreen....

Good luck,

Straight out from the boat launch. Right by the point at the 4-h bay.

Just FYI, someone thought it was a good idea to drive on park lake this weekend even though its been pretty warm lately. Sounds like everyone is ok though.

"far south" Newell Sun/Mon..... about 23" of ice. Couldn't believe how good the conditions were, considering how warm it's been. Access points were great and ice was plenty thick with no water on top. Fishing was absolutely dead. So disappointed. 3 or 4 lure stealer slough sharks and only 1 walter. Lame. Hoping March picks up steam.

Best thing that happened was CO's were out bombing around in a side by side, making sure everyone was behaving. Wish there was more of that going on.
