Default Some questions about minors

Greetings,

Recently, my 16 year old son has been constantly asking to take up target shooting. His grandfather (now deceased) always told him when he was very young, that they would go shooting together when he was mature enough. Well, now that he is responsible and mature enough for this, I need to find out some information.

The question now I guess is, what would be the process he has to go through to start this sport?

All help is appreciated.

P.S.
I should also mention, our family has no guns and I do not hold a firearms licence.
