Rockmtnx, I use the Montana silohette. It's looks great at 50 yards you can't tell the difference between it and a real dog. It's probably helped bring in a few dogs that would have hung up or are call shy but I can't say it's help my success rate a whole bunch.

I use the Mojo Critter. Seems to work well. Gets the yotes attention that is for sure.
Some guys just use a feather on a string tied to a stick as well. Cheap and easy.

Regulations aren't written to tell you what you can do, but rather what you can't do, unless there are obvious reasons to tell you otherwise. Decoys are legal for use in Alberta.

I've used a deer hide or a calf skin draped across a fence in the past, worked real well with a fan distress call!

They are legal as well. Bird hunters and outfitters use Robo-Ducks and other such mechanical birds for effective decoying. They work well.

I haul a rezno 3-d decoy I haul around with me on my calling sets. Folds up easy, sets up easy and with a wild turkey wing feather hanging from the head it adds some natural movement for a hungry coyote to focus on.
As ya can see, it works pretty good when it works.

I think I will pick up a coyote decoy and put it to the test.
