very old pole.. bambo? Maybe a cane pole?
I was given this as a kid (about 35 years ago) and at the time it was old.
Story goes, the guy who owned it was a multi millionaire.. Had a medical practise and lived around park avenue new york. And he had a country home in Ammnetyville.
It seems to be a handmade pole, but I'm not sure where the area he bought the pole would be. He spent majority of his life in new york and southern ontario, but he also travelled the world and spent lots of time in californio and LA.
He collected all kinds of stuff and loved fishing. I never meet the guy, but he was a distant relative.
Apparently when he and his wife kicked the bucket, they had sotherby's auction off a lot of stuff.
I'm not sure if I was given this pole because auction house deemed it not worth auctioning off or if it was pulled out of the pile before they came through and given to me because I loved fishing.
It's a 3 peice rod. A butt a middle and a tip. But there's 3 tips with it. One isn't in the picture. The pieces do connect.
All the metal fitting are brass.
It appears to be made of bamboo?
There's no reel seat, but there's eye's for line to pass through.
There's an insciption on the brass end of the butt, but its worn. I tried to get it in the pictures.
Hoping someone will recgonize what it is and even the rod builder.

First 6 pictures all are mostly the same...some pictures of the ferrules, guides and possible inscription might better help identify this.
Either way...the best person to help you on this would be Don Andersen

In Classic fly rods, it's all condition. Need better pictures to really figure out the maker. The tip section looks short, most likely a break at some point. Also, the grip section seems to be missing, the piece on the left does not look like it belongs to the three pieces on the right.

I'm really just trying to peice togehter what it is and where it came from. I think you might be on the right track with it not all being the same rod though
