Default What got burned?

Has anyone been west of Cynthia to Wolf lake road? Wondering how much of that block was scorched by the fire.

Lots was burnt but lots of pockets/areas still green. I was out past the Elk River campground the other day and then north into the bush, up and around - 2 1/2 ish hours from Drayton (tank truck not pickup). The fire had burned the trees on three sides of the lease. The area along the Ranch road was scorched pretty good. I was told most power poles along it had to be replaced. In the last three weeks I’ve seen countless deer, a young grizzly and a black bear in the area.

Was out to wolf lake yesterday. Pretty much burned all around the lake, a few green spots left, the campground didn't burn, though it is closed for no apparent reason.

To view the burnt area boundaries zoom in on the area on the provincial fire map.

Also if you google earth wolf lake itself and zoom in there are some new satellite photos of wolf lake area taken after the fire went through. Pretty scorched.

We camp there often, the fires took out the property of the folks who maintain and take care of the campground. thats likely why it's closed.

The Brazeau/Ochiese fire burned better part of 3 WMU's (338/339/340) The Brazeau, Nordegg, Dismal, Wolf, Pembina, Rat, Elk and Embarass river areas are All burned. Never seen so much distruction from one fire since Ft McMurry, Slave lake and Chinchaga fires.
PS Hope no one chose any of these WMU's for their draws! You will need to 999 your draws for next 99 years to wait for mature forest prime hunting areas to return.

This, for me, has been the easiest and most informative site. Thanks for the link.
And thanks to all who gave insight.
