Default How to play an SD card on a computer?

I have an older canon video camera that has an SD card in it,can I get a card reader and play the contents on a windows 10 computer? Thanks for any replies.

Connect the camera via USB, open the storage device and download the file to the PC. Should then play in player or similar.

Have to be careful, I've had the same issue with Windows 10. Had a bunch of footage on a camera, Windows 10 said the card needed to be formatted. Dug up an old laptop with Windows 7, reads the card perfectly. Never did dig into it further, just grabbed my footage and I stopped using that old camera.
