Default Trail Camera Advise

I have a couple of older trail cameras. I am looking to go cellular. I got two Spy Point Cell-link adaptors.

The advise I am looking for is, how good are the signal extenders {cell coverage is very spotty}.

Also I am looking at getting the solar chargers (the trail cameras will be over 3 hrs. from home), what are your thoughts!

Thank You in advance. Moose.

I have not had great luck with that cell link adapter to a non cellular camera. Eventually the cable that plugs into the camera memory card bent through being pinched in the cam door and broke an internal connector rendering it useless now.

I would recommend the standalone cellular cams. Nice to not have to go in to get the cards and they work without signal so they are always good for something.

Ive had a hard time finding signal most places I want to hunt. I would say it works for me 50% of the time.

Every other non cellular trail cam I’ve used seemed to have better quality than the Spypoint cell link in my opinion so weigh all your options and how you intend to use it.

I can’t speak to the solar kits. I run 12 volt batteries and they can be good for months if your camera is in a good spot without wind moving trees and snapping a bunch of random pics.

I’ve doubted solar would work in the thick stuff I hunt I’m also interested if others have used solar successfully!
