Default Prussian carp. Bow river system.

Any seen these bastards in the bow river system.

Bow is full of them down here, so are the lakes. which makes the Oldman and the SSR full of them as well

The nose creek system has carp, I don't doubt the upper bow has few at least.

Go to frank lake by high river. It's packed full of carp. Give you a chance to see what works best.

been there stinks full of bacteria im surprised no one died from eating those.scales look like dry tar powder

Never seen one of these, what are we supposed to do if we catch one and don’t want to eat it.

OP didn't mention that they were to be eaten, nor would I ever suggest to eat them. Wanted to know where to find them.

I understand that a recent study found that a very small percentage of Prussian carp eggs, can go through a mallard ducks digestive track and still be viable. With our high numbers fo mallards in Alberta - we can expect carp to be ‘introduced’ just about anywhere!

There is a nice overview here of Prussian carp. The females do not even need other males to reproduce but can use other fish species. They can also spawn multiple times a year. Many of us reported them in our systems back in the 70's, not that it did any good. I have cought them in the Bow in backwater areas with nymphs.
