I have had Rod do work for me, the work was done properly, and promptly, for a reasonable price.

Paul at PR PRECISION in Whitecourt does top shelf work, I highly recommend him

There is a slight difference in finish depending on whether it is sand blasted or actually bead blasted.
Sand or bead blasting is not a difficult chore. The clean up is important .

Thanks for the suggestions and PMs.
My 300 weatherby has some safe kisses ans a little spotty rust as i am the 2nd owner. I thought id turn it back to brand new vefore i replace trigger and put its new glass on. This rifle has sentimental value to me.
Also, with my dads passing in January, We found his ole cooey he though he lost lol. Its pretty rusty. ...
..... where do i need to go to get it cleaned up and cerakoted?? Is it a pricey procedure?

You are so full of crap.
Yes, Bob has scaled back his gunsmithing, and he is not working in the patch.
He’s scaled back things and is taking on work only from customers he actually likes…….
Had communications with him yesterday, my latest build is almost ready!

I have had dealings with Wayne but not for a few years.
The work he did for me was excellent however.
His father was a top shelf guy as well!

You sir are so full of it.
This will be the 6th job he’s done for me, and I’ve never had a single issue with his work.
I’ll be sure to share your critique to him……….

Jeez that's like the third personal attack.
What did you do sleep with his wife or shoot his dog or something?
It's out of character for the Dick to instigate any conflict.

No sorry ,
I have a had few guns out to Bob and was not happy with the results . Is it an offence to speak the truth when the question is asked .. I am not impressed with the shop or the workmanship .. can I say that ..It's my opinion
Others may disagree and that's fine
In the end I don't care what Dick says or thinks

My nephew took Bob a 270 win for a rebarrel. 16 months later he went and picked up his gun because Bob hadn’t started on it yet.

I find it interesting that some gunsmiths get great recommendations by some and the same gunsmiths are given a bad review by others .
It's puzzling for sure.
I know of three like that, some can't abide them yet others applaud them!
Actually, four now

A gunsmith in Three Hills;
Chris Griesbach (1-587-321-0848)
Chris apprenticed with Martin Hagn and Chris's craftsmanship shows it.
Chris worked for Martin near 20 years and was close to his family, before moving back to Alberta.

Well I am an old guy and he had no problems changing my mind after I saw the work he did on my rifle. He actually did the crown with a stone pointed bit and a Dremel tool. The only thing worse than his work was his attitude. The rifle wouldn't feed unless you really jammed them home. I showed him this and he stormed outside and jammed 4 rounds through it and told me it was fine.
A real gunsmith literally laughed out loud when he looked at the work. He thought I did it myself in the garage as a first time gun smithing attempt.

Very similar dealings
And worse, though a open forum is not where I am willing to discuss it.
I certainly would not recommend him for work done.
There are some excellent gunsmiths in Alberta and some terrible ones.
Chris in three hills is incredible, his work is second to none.

Lol wow. You can buy crowing pilots off of brownells for home-brew work that would come out better than a dremel....

That's strange as heck, every rifle barrel I have ever seen thst he did was done on a lathe!

In all fairness it did shoot decent, but then again all RS barrels shoot well. I just couldn't stand looking at the crown so I had it done properly at a reputable gunsmith along with fixing the feeding issue. It tightened the groups up even more. The funny part is that the feeding issue was resolved with careful work using a Dremel like tool. Perhaps he just got the ends mixed up?
This was his second attempt on this particular rifle. The first time he gave it back the head space was out. It would swallow a no go without issue and the barrel had to be set back and rechambered.
