Default Pleasure Craft Operator Card

Apologies if this has been already answered on the forum elsewhere but I was wondering about the most cost effective and efficient way to write the exam and get my card. I only operate a 16ft Canoe but if I want to use it with my electric trolling motor, I guess I need to get my license....

Thanks all.

I did mine on boaterexam.com. It was super easy and when your done you get a printable licence right away until they ship you your card. There is an online coupon to save ya ten bucks too, http://www.tjoos.com/Coupon/100282/BoaterExam.com, i used it and it worked fine you just have to enter the code on the website. The only catch is you need a shaparone for when you do it who is not a relative. If you have a buddy who needs it as well that is the best way cause you can just register each other and get them done in a couple of hours. All the study material is on the website as well so it's just a matter of studying a bit and writing the exam. That is if you need to study, I didn't know anything about boating but needed it to run my pontoon boat with a trolling motor which seems over kill to me but whatever. Good luck!

I wrote mine recently at one of the registries in Edmonton. Cost $35.00 + tax. The attached web site has a list of locations to take the test. I have been reading the material at the boatsmart web site, but I didn't want to go thru the hassle of taking it on line. One draw back is you only get $10.00 discount for re-test if you don't pass. If you take it on line I believe you get free re try's. Hope this helps.

Default another discount

Hey, if you're using www.boatsmartexam.com you can get ten bucks off by entering the promo code 401FRB when registering. They also offer cheap rates on extra cards if you want to keep one on the boat and in your wallet

Default More discounts...

Here's a $15 discount off the online exam:

BEBC5YX

Here's the site:
BoaterExam.com

They also have a list of "classroom courses" where you can go to take the test in person.
