You're looking at this all backward. He is enjoying himself with his new hobby. Your job should be to go to the range and provide him with more hulls

That'll work gear until he catches on!!
The captain used to invite his pals over after the hunt to play cards , and get their birds and guns cleaned by "the gun bearer" - wonder who THAT was??!!
Here I thought I was given a special honour in return for a few rounds of skeet or a little hunt time!
Never did get tired of loading however.

I was in your sons shoes about 20 years ago.

Never have found a cure for my reloading addiction!!

Could be worse I guess.

I get 3,628 skeet loads out of an 8lb. jug of Longshot for my 28 gauge guns.

7,000 grains in a pound divided by load!
There is also a chart in many load manuals....

Way to go Ritchy....next time Davids down there maybe you can show him what to do. I could use a "reloader" before duck season...
