Default Bottom bouncing in and around weeds

Didn't want to hijack mustang's thread on spinner gear and setup so I started a new one here. I was hoping some of the expert trollers could shed some light on trolling in and around weed beds. I'm also a beginner to this technique.

Are the particular setups that allow a guy to troll through light - medium weed cover without getting snags? Or is it best to completely avoid weed beds and try to troll around the edges?

Or, if the water is deep enough and the weeds are short enough, is it worthwhile to attempt to troll over the top of the weeds?

My typical setup is a banana weight or bottom bouncer with 5' leader, and the typical blade setup with beads and 2 death-roll hooks snelled on the end.

Thanks!
